Opportunities in food and waste, starting in the home!
[Part 2 of 2]

Guest: Matlou Setati

I love what Matlou says about a culture of caring for the environment, and why is it so had for families to be conscious and responsible.

'I think in most cases, people say your body's your temple. I think we need to adopt the with your environment is your temple". Matlou. This for me is common sense, and we have to strive to be better citizens.

I starts in the home, how we recycle and create opportunities to make a difference further along the waste cycle. We look at this for different angles, and hope to start something in you that enables you to participate in some form or another. Website · Instagram · LinkedIn

BOUNCE, happy to be talking about sustainability
[Part 1 of 2]

Guest: Matlou Setati from CGCSA

Let us take the joinery where food begins, how it travels and gain insights into how we can do better when it arrives at home. We talk about recycling, we look at opportunities in waste, and the challenges farmers have in production and processing. I am keen on developing greater awareness and understanding of the whole journey, opportunities to live more consciously and how we as families need to play our part.

And you will see how, people still have to go without food, even though there is more than enough food to feed the nation three times over. So what's the problem? Listen in as Matlou raises our levels of awareness. Website · Instagram · LinkedIn

So, how did you get ready to do the things you do, like this Podcast?

In this podcast I respond to the question around how I do the things I do. I believe I have prepared myself for this day and this journey, since the very beginning of my career at the age of 16. Everything in life is often an accumulation of previous activities, not always directly related, but it is cumulative. You would be surprised at how different people do different things, seemingly unrelated, but can cross over. Right now, do different things, look at the whole picture not just your lane. I love today's youth, they are open, they play and want to do different things. So, many are really set to do wonderful and amazing things in the future.

Special thanks to Callum Kennedy who has done a sterling job of getting me comfortable... I am just too fond of him. Website · Instagram · LinkedIn

#02/4 What feels like failure, is the beginning of courage! Bounce girl! - Dikeledi Seleka

When rock bottom is the beginning of Different, she had to do different...
[Part 4 of 4]

Today's Guest: Dikeledi Seleka

Dikeledi, founder of Dynamic Timz Coaching, came across my LinkedIn page one morning, and like many, I was moved by her post. That morning she was giving up on her 8 year long dream and vision. That morning she felt that the price was too big and the cost to her family too great.

There is so much we still have to grasp on the various opportunities available to us when we try craft our own purpose driven lives. There's a lot of content on getting to purpose, but living with purpose, not so much. We use words like entrepreneur, and very few as consultant, advisor, contractor, developer, creator and many others.

Even though, doing what you love does not feel like working, you still gotta pay the bills. So how do you straddle? How do you create different sources of income, serve others, earn a living and keep you fire going? We don't solve it all in this episode, but it's a start.

Dikeledi speaks about Vision within a Vision. A nice concept.... one I challenge her on. It is a great idea, to be allowed to have a Vision for your life, and for your Vision to be the enabler of the companies vision. But, show me where that has ever been in a performance or employment agreement. If my job enabled my Vision, would I not make sure I gave it my all, because without my job, I can't achieve my Vision. Be that to educate my children, to do my art, to train and teach others, to uplift my community.

Tell me of a company that does a Vision, and encourages their employees to do their visions, and how the company helps to enable it?

She is ahead of many, with a clear sense of purpose and vision for her own life! Connect with Dikeledi · Website · Instagram · LinkedIn

When rock bottom is the beginning of Different, she had to do different...
[Part 3 of 4]

Website · Instagram · LinkedIn

BOUNCE was inspired by people I have come across who are trying to follow their passions, navigate this life, whilst accumulating knowledge, expertise and hopefully wisdom along the way. I know that often we are led to think of our lives in a linear path. From university and then from role to role, up the ladder, hopefully to the highest point. But, perhaps we have options to do things that suit us, differently at different times.
If you had to hand your life over to the Universe, surely just like everything in nature, it would not be square or round. It would take all sorts of shapes, colours and sizes. The world has a need for all of us, in our different callings, beliefs, talents and abilities. It is up to you to place yourself in the space that is you at this moment in time...
#01/3 Believing you can do anything - Nonhlanhla Buthelezi-Onverwacht

When you do the possible and move on to the never been done before....
[Part 3 of 3]

Today's Guest: Nonhlanhla Buthelezi-Onverwacht

In this episode I talk to Nonhlanhla Buthelezi-Onverwacht, CEO and Advisory Board Member of Shamwari Consultancy.

I have yet to meet a proper warrior like Nonhlanhla, who literally went into the world wild with curiosity, ambition and bold courage. Each time I engaged with her, I literally felt like I was speaking with someone who in so many ways reflects who I am, and so much more.

When we met, she shared with me that she had made the decision to begin a whole new journey, bringing all her skills and talents together to serve women and societies in rural Kwa-Zulu Natal. As a rural strategist , she delivers hope through the land, building meaningful and sustainable solutions for women, youth and entire communities.

I have been preparing my whole life for this day here. And it's taken so long to get here. But for me, I needed to be ready. I needed to have in my toolbox, every single thing that I think would be important for me to be able to stand in front of you and to have these conversations. And one of the things that has really signified, or has been part of my life, is my ability to bounce. You know, I have been in so many different environments. In my career, I've been so open-minded, I have been restless, I have been ambitious, I have been adventurous, but I've also been a collector of knowledge.

So when it felt that it was time for me to bounce and find a new space, a new place and new people that will enable me to go to that next level. I did exactly that. If life threw me with different curveballs. I'd hardly ever remember being so distraught, you know, I bounced, and I smiled, and I knew that it was just the beginning of yet another journey.

So I'm so glad that you are joining me, Zanele Morrison, on this podcast journey. Website · Instagram · LinkedIn
